How an advance decision can help you | LR Estate Planning

As long as it’s a valid document that applies to your situation, an advance decision / living will gives your health and social care team the vital information they need to know regarding your personal choices and instructions concerning your treatment. This is not only critical to ensure your wishes are met but it is also a legal engagement of your instructions.

Your advance decision will only be called upon if you are no longer able to declare your wishes in the future. This document will then be used to help instruct the medical staff or carers around you who have a duty of care to fulfil your wishes when you’re not able to make your own decisions about your treatment.
