Assistant Accountant

We are looking for someone to become a new member of our Accountancy and Business team to help support our current team of Accountants in their responsibilities and duties. If you would like to work in a professional, fun and relaxed environment and feel that you have what it takes to fill the role then please submit your CV.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and posting purchase invoices and payments

  • Reviewing and allocating cash receipts

  • Performing bank and cash reconciliations

  • Setting up online banking payments

  • General daily accounting tasks to support the team.

Skills

  • Good verbal and written communications skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • The ability to maintain clear and accurate financial records

  • Computer literacy including the ability to use various specialist applications

  • Reasonable word processing skills.

  • A genuine interest in business and finance

  • Good administrative skills.

Requirements

  • Maths & English to GCSE Grade C/5 or equivalent

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot errors

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures

  • Organised and methodical approach to working

  • Familiarity with accounting software (ideally Xero)

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, and intermediate MS Excel.
